Information and Advice Project Worker
This post is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund for up to a 3 year contract, the successful candidate will have to complete a six month probationary period. The hours of work are 37 hours per week (flexible hours), Salary - £21,365 pa and optional pension scheme available. This person will provide one-to-one information/advice/support sessions at the SPS premises. These sessions will take place approx. 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. The remaining hours will be spent completing necessary administration work, attending meetings, training events or researching for extra information relevant to economic migrants. This person may undergo training (where appropriate) which will enable them to provide advice suitable to the needs of Eastern European migrants. They will be fluent in English and Polish, will be computer literate and able to contribute towards other services provided by SPS. A knowledge of other Eastern European languages would be an advantage. They will demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Eastern European migrants to the UK, show commitment to easing the process of their integration and be passionate about community cohesion and social integration. The candidate will be positively inclined towards newly arrived economic migrants.
